Overweight and Miserable? Start a Healthy Weight Loss Diet Today!

November 6th, 2009

If you’ve ever been overweight, even by the slightest degree, you will have known the misery of being a plump kid in a class of thin kids. School was blighted by me being just a bit bigger than the rest. The chubby kid who is nicknamed Fatso the minute he or she enters the college gates soon gets an inferiority complex which can dog you into maturity.

Having been overweight myself from an early age, I remember the trials of sports day, the guffaws of classmates during my plodding attempt at the 100 metre run. The knowledge that my very well-developed bosom was a source of fascination for onlookers and a great embarrassment to me as I ran the course. That feeling of self-conciousness is very difficult to overcome, even in later life.

I have a vivid memory of a session in the gym. The gym instructress insisted I climb the wall bars and hang upside down by my legs. All the other kids had done it with ease – they were half my size. I think she was trying to encourage me. Consequently I dragged my quaking body up the bars, made the mistake of looking down, and fell on the mistress from a great height. Luckily she broke my fall and after that I was excused physical excercise for the duration of my school days.

By the time I was fourteen I felt sure I resembled a wobbly jelly and had no confidence at all. Even though I wasn’t carrying half the weight of some obese youngsters today. Life was pure misery and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone, let alone a teenager. The usual hormonal problems of puberty are difficult enough to deal with without a weight problem as well. I have been on and off of diets since my school days, and in recent years have taken more exercise – though I still can’t say that I’m enthusiastic about daily trips to the gym. How do people find the time?

But we overweight folks must persevere! Obesity is now becoming a severe problem throughout the western world, so if you are getting a bit chubby, think about a weight-loss program now. The effects of being overweight could ruin your future health, so deal with the problem without delay. Parents should keep an eye on their children’s weight and diet and eating habits. Catch the problem of overweight early before it really gets a hold.

Take notice of ‘danger signals’ such as a small tyre developing around the middle. Or the face, arms and legs becoming very chubby and losing muscle tone. If you feel that your weight is getting out of control, now is the time to do something about it.

Of course we all love the rich tasty foods available today. But there has to be sensible attention to diet and excercise if you want to feel fit and healthy into middle-age and beyond.. I was well into my forties before I managed to find a diet and exercise regime that helped me to lose weight and gain me some confidence. Don’t let this happen to you or your youngsters. Do try to organise and maintain some sort of weight-loss regime. It’s not easy to fit comfortably into our modern society if you are overweight and lethargic. I should know – I’ve been there.

Dr. Siegal’s Cookie Weight Loss Plan: Have your er…Cookie and Eat It Too!

October 25th, 2009

Dr. Siegal’s Cookie Diet weight loss program is comprised of cookies and shake mixes that have helped more than 500,000 people lose weight by curbing their hunger. The program was created in 1975 by Dr. Sanford Siegal to help the patients of his Miami, Florida medical practice control their hunger and meet their weight loss goals. The core of his program is a proprietary blend of protein, fibers and amino acids that go into his cookies and shakes. More 30 years later, the Dr Siegal Cookie Diet continues to provide delicious and nutritious cookies as a natural alternative to pills and other appetite suppressing aids. Dr. Siegal continues to personally mixes his secret blend of nutrients for his cookies at his private bakery to the delight of celebrities, such as Denise Richards.

Because of its effectiveness, Dr. Siegal’s Cookie Diet has been adopted by hundreds of doctors in North America for treating their patients. Its effectiveness lies in the fact that it overcomes dieters’ main stumbling block of hunger management. It does this by spreading out the intake of six cookies throughout the day with a sensible dinner in the evening. This method helps to modulate blood sugar levels, control hunger, and preserve muscle mass while burning fat. Weight loss experts agree that this is the key element of a successful weight loss program.

Pros

* Excellent method for curbing appetite without resorting to pills.* Relatively affordable when compared to diet bars and the like.* Has a solid success and safety record dating back to 1975.* Contains nutritionally sound blend of fiber, protein and amino acids.* Convenience of having it delivered to your door.

Cons

* Significant weight loss in a short period of time (up to 15 pounds a month), is seen by some dieticians as not healthy for dieters.* Limited choice of food during the day.

Conclusion

If you are looking for a diet program that doesn’t betray you to others that you’re on a diet, then this is for you. If you want a diet that makes you feel like you’re cheating, then this is for you. You really can have your er… cookie and eat it too.
